Focus on flow measurement technology

Based on the Bernoulli effect, Vectoflow probes can be used to easily and accurately determine the pressure, speed and angle of flow of fluid flows. To do this, the pressure distribution at the probe tip is observed, which ultimately allows the flow parameters to be determined. The number of pressure holes at the probe tip determines the measurable angle range.

Air Data Boom

The Air Data Boom is designed for mobile applications such as drones or cars to measure flow velocities and temperatures even in harsh environments.

Kiel temperature probe

The Vectoflow Kiel temperature probes have a specially optimized inlet geometry, which also flow angles of up to 50° and the recovery temperature to within 1% can measure. Different sensor types (e.g. TCs) can be integrated and calibrated. With the help of the calibration, the recovery value can be determined, with which the measured temperature can be corrected to the total temperature.

Omni-iProbe

The Omni-iProbe from Vectoflow is a compact and lightweight plug & play system for measuring flow velocities and angles for mobile or wind tunnel applications. By combining a 14-hole probe with a data acquisition system, the effort required to determine flow measurements is reduced to a minimum!

Conventional multi-hole probes

Multi-hole probes offer straightforward operation to enable concurrent detection of critical aerodynamic and thermodynamic variables:

  • angle of attack
  • speed
  • static and total pressure
  • total temperature
  • other relevant values

Rakes

Rakes combine several measuring heads in one probe and are therefore ideal for measuring flow variables at several measuring points simultaneously. Rakes can be equipped with the following measuring heads:

  • 3-, 4-, 5-, 7-, 14-hole head,
  • Pitot head,
  • keel total pressure head,
  • Kiel total temperature head,
  • Preston Kopf,
  • Prandtl head.

FRAP Air - Unsteady flow measurement systems

High frequency measurement at low speeds. Precise detection and analysis of high-frequency flow phenomena at low speeds.

FRAP Pro – Unsteady flow measurement systems

FRAP Pro is Vectoflow’s transient flow probes that combine the robustness of pressure probes (e.g. 5-hole probes) with a high temporal resolution of the pressure signal. Depending on the probe geometry, frequencies in the kHz range can also be measured.

iProbe

Vectoflow’s iProbe is a compact and lightweight system for measuring speeds and angles of attack for mobile applications. Fluid dynamic measurements with a multi-hole probe have never been this quick and easy!

Omniprobe

The 14-hole Omniprobe from Vectoflow enables measurement of flow angles ranging up to ±160°. Similar to all other multi-hole probes by Vectoflow, the Omniprobe is capable of measuring the following flow parameters:

  • angle of attack
  • speed
  • static and total pressure
  • and other aerodynamic and thermodynamic quantities

Kiel probes

Vectoflow's Kiel probes feature a uniquely optimised inlet geometry, ensuring precise measurement of total pressure and total temperature with an accuracy of XNUMX%. These probes are capable of accurately capturing flow angles of up to XNUMX°.

Radiator probe

Vectoflow radiator probes offer a simple way to equip your radiator with probes that measure total mass flow and mass flow distribution through the unit.

Special multi-hole probes

With our manufacturing process, almost all probes or geometries can be manufactured. Simply send us a geometry or describe your problem and we will find a solution.
The advantage can be seen directly in the example of the lobbed nozzle. It was printed from a cobalt chrome alloy and then subjected to a surface treatment as part of the manufacturing process.
Several pressure channels and openings for thermocouples are integrated into the nozzle, which allows a lot of information about the exhaust gas flow behind a thruster to be determined simultaneously. The nozzle is an integral part of the small gas turbine, so why not install it with the instrumentation already fully equipped?

High temperature probes

Are you seeking to acquire precise temperature and pressure measurements directly behind a combustion chamber?
We offer the right solution for measurements in high temperature ranges. The Vectoflow high temperature probes are manufactured using our special additive manufacturing process which offers a number of advantages, such as high geometric flexibility and very good mechanical properties.

Flow probes

The Vectoflow manufacturing process enables you to flexibly design your probe to suit your application.
We produce probe diameters from 1,2 mm and lengths up to 250 mm (standard) as an integral component. Longer probes are produced using a hybrid design.

  • The connection (e.g. square, hexagon) of the probe is flexibly adapted to your needs.
  • Easy connection of hoses, quick connectors, Swageloks and much more is possible.
 
In addition to the standard shapes of cone, faceted and hemisphere, other geometries are possible.

Possible materials are:

  • Titanium (Grade 5)
  • Aluminium
  • Inconel 718
  • CoCr alloys
  • Stainless steels (e.g. 1.4542, 1.4540)
  • Ceramics (Al2O3, SiNi3)
  • Plastics (PEEK, PA12, ABS)
